ConnectUs Foundation.
The Mission of ConnectUs Foundation is to meaningfully advocate for the mental health and substance use treatment needs of the community while expanding access to supports that help people heal and live life to their fullest potential. The Foundation currently has three goals. The first goal is to continue to spread awareness of mental health through advocacy events. The second goal is to raise funds to help overcome barriers that prevent people from gaining access to care or create opportunity for personal advancement and success.The third goal, is to raise funds to purchase or build a larger clinic that can host more providers and expand services to include medication assisted therapy for substance use disorders. "Not Today" is a suicide prevention awareness campaign. This event is held every September during suicide prevention awareness month and is targeted towards adolescent suicide prevention and mental health. ConnectUs partners with local businesses and Williston High School to provide education about this topic, and hosts a walk/run in honor of those who have died by suicide.
RUOK?
"RUOK" is an event held in May during mental health awareness month which aims to create conversation around mental health. This event provides opportunity to normalize the discussion of our mental health and to create connection amongst individuals. ConnectUs partners with Deja Brew, who provides coffee and drinks as a means of connection where customers can "give a drink, buy a drink." This can prompt the conversation and to check in with the ones we care about.
