For your first session, or intake, you will meet with a therapist or nurse practitioner who is assigned based on your needs and concerns, where pertinent information is collected. Future sessions are typically 45 minutes to an hour for therapy, and medication follow-up appointments are typically 30 minutes. These appointments' frequency is dependent on the client's needs and provider's scheduling availability.

The use of therapy for the purpose of court proceedings, custody cases, family or marital issues is highly discouraged. There is a tendency for court issues to interfere in the therapeutic relationship. Providers at ConnectUs will not participate in familial disputes. If it is felt by the provider that services are being rendered for an alternate purpose other than the best interest of the child, services will be terminated.

Confidentiality is an essential part of the therapeutic process and will be maintained whenever possible. There are some limitations that exist in regards to confidentiality; your provider will discuss these with you at your first appointment. Group counseling provides some challenges to confidentiality. We will make every effort to maintain your confidentiality by reminding group members frequently of the importance of keeping what is said in group confidential.
